Welcome to my EarnHoney review!
In this review, I’ll be covering things like:
- What EarnHoney is and how it works
- Whether it’s a scam or a legitimate way to make money online
- How to earn money with EarnHoney
- How much you can expect to earn
- EarnHoney complaints
- Pros and cons
- And my final verdict, and why I still prefer this earning method over EarnHoney.
What is EarnHoney?
EarnHoney is a website that pays you to do various activities online – including watching videos, taking surveys, and playing games.
Although you won’t be able to earn any more than just pocket change with EarnHoney, it is a legit “Get Paid To” website, and has been around since 2014 with a good overall reputation.

How Does EarnHoney Work?
EarnHoney pays you to take surveys, watch videos, play games, and complete offers. The payouts are pretty low for these activities though, so don’t expect to earn much more than simple pocket change.
EarnHoney’s currency is called “Honey Dollars”, or “HD$”. 1 HD is worth $0.01 (a penny).
Upon signing up, a walkthrough video will play, and you’ll earn 30 HD$ right after watching the video and answering a couple comprehension questions.
Following is a list of ways to earn Honey Dollars:
1. Watch Videos
This is by far the most used feature of EarnHoney, and for good reason. You can simply let the videos run as you do other things, meaning they’re generating passive income.
Some members claim that they make several dollars a day with this method.
2. Play Games
This is another heavily used feature. Oddly enough, there’s only one game available, not several, as EarnHoney’s plural “Play Games” suggests.
This game is called 2048, and it’s played by connecting similar number tiles enough times in order to form the number 2048. Ads will play next to the game board, and for every 10 minutes that the ads are running, you’ll earn 3 HD$.
I played their game for about 20 minutes, but never earned anything even though the ads were playing. It could have been due to my horrible internet speed, but still, I was not impressed to say the least.
EDIT: I now have much faster internet, and the ads still don’t load. So…I definitely wouldn’t rely on this method of earning HD$.
3. Complete Offers
Completing offers is the fastest way to earn a bunch of HD$ quickly, but I don’t recommend them and I’ll tell you why:
Any of the offers that are worth your time will ask for personal information such as your email and phone number. You have to read the T&C of each of these offers carefully, otherwise you could end up receiving tons of spam emails and phone calls.
Many offers also require that you sign up for a free trial of some sort, but you’ll first have to give them your credit card information. If you aren’t careful and forget to cancel the free trial, they will charge you for the full service and you’ll end up losing a LOT more money than you gained for completing the offer in the first place.
My advice is to simply stay away from the offers and instead take advantage of the safer earning opportunities they offer, such as watching videos.
That said, as long as you are smart about which offers you choose to complete, you should be safe.
4. Take Surveys
EarnHoney has a bunch of easy surveys you can take right away, and they each pay 5 HD$. These surveys each ask for specific personal information, and are used to find “lucrative” surveys for you that match your demographic.
Occasionally, higher paying surveys will become available as well. Most of these you’ll disqualify from though.
I attempted one that was supposed to take 10 minutes and pay out 99 HD$ upon completion, but was kicked out after the very first question. Hey, at least that’s better than being kicked out on the very LAST question.
As a “consolation” prize, EarnHoney rewarded me with 1 HD. Apparently, I had two more consolation prizes left that day. Thanks, EarnHoney.
5. Refer Others to EarnHoney
The final way to earn money with EarnHoney is by referring others to the site.
You can post your referral link on social media, your website, wherever. When someone joins EarnHoney through your link, they become your referral.
You’ll earn 10% of everything your referral earns, so if your referral earns 100 HD$, you’ll earn 10 HD$.
This is the ideal way to earn more HD$, since you won’t have to do any work (except at first, when you’re trying to convince people to join). If you get a lot of referrals, this can definitely be a nice little income stream.
How Much Can You Expect to Earn with EarnHoney?
How much money you can make depends on what features of EarnHoney you use, and how often you use them.
If you have the videos or the 2048 game running on your computer all day (provided you have very fast internet), you could easily make over a dollar every day. This is the best way to earn Honey Dollars, since it’s pretty much passive income.
However, if the videos and ads aren’t your thing, then you’re pretty much stuck with surveys and offers.
Unless you enjoy taking surveys, they’re a complete waste of time. Most of them will kick you out and even the ones you do finish pay too little for the amount of time you spend taking them.
Like I said earlier, I don’t recommend doing the offers, unless you don’t mind the spam you may receive or the risk of forgetting to cancel a free trial.
How Does EarnHoney Pay?
You can cash out your Honey Dollars for either an Amazon gift card or PayPal cash. There’s also the option to donate your earnings to charity if you prefer.
Is There a Minimum Payout Threshold?
Yes. $2 (or 200 HD$) is the minimum cash out amount for an Amazon gift card and $5 is the minimum amount needed in order to cash out to PayPal.
EarnHoney Complaints
Although EarnHoney is a legit way to make some pocket change now and then, there are a few concerns people have with it, which I’ll explain below:
Videos don’t always work
A lot of members have complained about the videos not working. In fact, I experienced this myself so this is definitely a legitimate concern.
Poor customer support
EarnHoney’s customer support is slow, and apparently not all that helpful. In fact, some members haven’t received replies to their support tickets for a week or more.
You’ll disqualify from most surveys
Survey companies are looking to target a specific demographic and if you’re not a match, they’ll kick you out.
As I mentioned earlier, I was kicked out of a survey, but at least EarnHoney was nice enough to give me a “consolation prize” of 1 HD.
Redemptions are late or rejected
A lot of members have claimed that when they went to redeem their HD$ for a gift card, either the gift card came very late, or they were rejected altogether. Just be sure that you read and understand Earnhoney’s terms and conditions and you should be safe.
Not all offers credit
Sometimes offers you complete won’t credit and unfortunately, EarnHoney can do nothing about this since the offers are from separate companies.
Not available in many countries
EarnHoney is only available in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
EarnHoney Pros and Cons
Pros
- 100% free
- Running the videos can be a good way to make a little passive income each day
- Very low cash out amount, at just $2 for an Amazon gift card
Cons
- The videos don’t always work
- Surveys are difficult to qualify for
- Poor customer support
- Redemptions are often late, and sometimes rejected
- Not all offers credit
- Only available in the US, CA, and the UK
Final thoughts
Overall, I think EarnHoney is a decent way to make some pocket change online, especially if you can get the videos to work. I like that there are several ways to earn Honey Dollars, such as doing surveys, playing the 2048 game, completing offers, etc. None of these are lucrative at all though, and in my opinion they aren’t worth the time.
EarnHoney is definitely a legitimate and paying website. Just make sure that you aren’t breaking any rules, otherwise you might get rejected when you try to cash out.
Although “Get Paid To” sites like EarnHoney are nice for making a little pocket change every now and then, if you want to actually make a full-time income online, these types of sites are not the way to go.
I would recommend starting your own website and monetizing it with affiliate links and ads. This is what I do, and the nice thing is, you can make a full-time income doing this if you put in the work. Click the link at the bottom of this post if you’re interested in learning more.

Thanks for such a details info.
I am looking through this program with interest until you mentioned the money conversion part. 1 HD = to 0.01 cent? That’s a lot of work just to earn $1.
If I’ve not known about niche blogging, I would probably get involved in this type of program, but after learning about the power of free traffic from the search engines, it’s obvious that earning passive income from content marketing is way better than doing these trivial tasks.
Hi Cathy,
Yes, unfortunately almost every single GPT site I’ve come across requires a lot of effort for little pay.
I completely agree that content marketing is far more lucrative than these types of sites…it’s a shame that so few people understand this though.
Hello,
I guess it is an option for you to actually earn money online but the payout is terribly small. It makes you question whether all this is worth your time, while you could be doing something more productive. Even having fun and not earning that small amount of money could be a time better spent. That’s my 2 cents.
Hi Dejan,
I absolutely agree with that, and I personally don’t waste my valuable time with these sites. However, some of them do provide passive income opportunities. IF you have an old computer you don’t use anymore, you could play the EarnHoney videos on it all day and earn a dollar or so in passive income. It’s not much, but if you don’t use the computer anyway, you might as well put it to work.
Otherwise, GPT sites are a complete waste of time and should simply be avoided.
Thanks for chiming in. Have a great weekend!
Hi,
Thanks for the detailed review! I have never tried EarnHoney, but I have tried several others of this type. I have always been discouraged though, because I never seem to qualify for the surveys, and the offers always want my personal information, which I am not wanting to give. I have also found that sometimes, there is a set amount of offers you need to accept before you are even considered for a reward. It just seems to me the pay out isn’t worth my time and effort. Again, thank you for giving such a detailed review.
Kathy
Kathy,
That has been exactly my experience as well. GPT sites simply aren’t worth the effort most of the time, unless you take advantage of the passive income earning opportunities. For example, running EarnHoney videos on an old computer you don’t use anymore is a good way to earn a dollar or so every day. But other than that, it’s simply a huge time waster.
Have a great weekend Kathy!
Hello,
Thank you for making this thorough review of Earn Honey.
I know now that I will not go anywhere near that web-site. It is just not worth the effort
I agree with you, if you want to make some real money working from home you should focus all your energies on creating an online business enterprise, that way one that you can earn enough to quit your day job.
Thanks again
Hi Manuel,
Yeah, I agree that the effort you’d have to put in for taking surveys, doing offers, etc. isn’t worth the time, but if you have an old computer that you’re not using, letting the videos run all day on it is a good way to put that computer to work earning you a dollar or so per day.
But other than that, EarnHoney is pretty much a waste of time….
Thanks for commenting, and have a great weekend!
